Region Happenings

 

...is celebrating its 25th birthday next year, so in partnership with the Martindale Brightwood Community Development Corporation and in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Church Federation, they are doing a 10 house build called Centennial Village.
 
At the August 29th meeting, the Region Board voted to bring together our churches to see if ABCGI could sponsor one of the homes. This is an undertaking that will require both financial sacrifice and volunteer hours.  If you are interested in having your church participate, please contact our office, 484-9327. We'll be happy to help arrange a presentation to your mission board and/or church leadership.

 

The American Council on Gift Annuities has announced a reduction in annuity rates effective January 1, 2012. The new rates for senior annuitants will be 0.5% to 0.8% lower than the previous schedule.
 
Rates are fixed for life and based on age at the time the annuity is created. New rates will range from 3.7% for individuals age 50, up to 9.0% for individuals age 90 and above. Two-life rates will range from 3.1% for a couple, both age 50, up to 8.8% for a couple, both age 95 and above.
 
Current rates can be locked in prior to December 31, 2011. Those rates range from  4.2 % for individuals age 50, up to 9.8% for individuals age 90 and above. Two-life rates range from 3.8% for a couple, both age 50 up to 9.6% for a couple, both age 95 and above.
